Lynx has a short tail, black hair on its ears, large paws for walking on snow and long
whiskers on the face. Under its neck there is a black bow tie.
Its body is brown with dark brown spots on its paws. It has white fur on the chest, belly and the
insides of its legs. Its paws may be larger than a
human hand or foot. The lynx is usually single. Mating takes place in winter and once a year the female gives birth to between one and four kittens. The young stay with the mother for one more winter. It lives in a den. It feeds on deer, hares, fish, foxes, sheep, squirrels, mice, birds, and goats.
