James Eugene Carrey was born January 17, 1962 in Newmarket, Canada. His parents were Kathleen Kerry (nee Oram), singer[2], and later a homemaker, and Percy Carrey, a saxophonist-and self-taught accountant. Jim has two older sisters Pat and Rita, and older brother John. Jim grew up in a Catholic family. His ancestors were Irish, Scots, French, and originally his name sounded like Carra[2]. When Jim was 14, his family moved to Scarborough (Ontario) Jim for two years attended Blessed Trinity School in North York. The next year he studied at the Institute Agincourts, and then briefly attended Secondary School Norview (General Jim spent three years in the 10th grade).
Financial problems in the family began when Jim was in high school. When his father was fired from his job, the whole family had to move to Scarborough, where Percy has found a job as a security guard at the factory "Titanium wheels" in the suburbs of Toronto, which produced the steel rims and tires. There had to work and the whole family Kerry. After school, Jim and his sisters and brother had to do the cleaning, wash the floors and toilets. At this time, Jim becomes withdrawn child.
