Dragonflies (Latin Odonata) - unit of prey, well-flying insects. Large moving-head, large eyes, short bristle mustache, four transparent wings with a dense network of veins and elongated slender abdomen. Order includes over 5,600 species (5680 species as of February 2008 [1]), most of which lives in tropical and subtropical moist. In Russia, the dragonflies are widely distributed throughout the country (except in arid regions), the fauna includes about 150 species. [2] In the former Soviet Union there were 172 species and 69 subspecies of dragonflies, grouped in 52 genus and 10 families of three suborders.
