Выберите подходящие слова, чтобы закончить предложения.
1). The hungry should be helped, at least they should be fed.
2). The rich are getting richer.
3). Poor Uncle Henry! He is sure to lose his job.
4). He is sixty but he feels absolutely young.
5). I don't think Jack is old enough to understand such things.
6). It is not politically correct to use such words as the old and elderly to characherize senior citizens.
7) Little Jonny is deaf in one ear.
8). Colin was deaf and dumb from birth.
9). There are some special schools in the area for the deaf and the dumb.
10). The goverment has helped the rich but done nothing to improve the condition of the poor.
Тут действует то же самое правило. Используем артикль "the" с прилагательными, когда имеем ввиду группу людей.
К примеру во 2 предложении (Богатые становятся богаче) идёт речь о богатых (т.е. о группе людей), "the" нужен,
тогда как в 3 предложении (Бедный дядя Генри! Он точно потеряет работу) идёт речь об одном человеке, поэтому "the" не нужен.
