Naschmarkt in Vienna

Dear Alice,

On the holidays my parents and I went to visit one of the oldest European capitals. Our choice was Vienna. I'm in love with this old but truely amazing city. We had a lot of excursions to different places. I'm sending you a photo of one of the oldest and most famous markets in this city. It is called Naschmarkt. It exists since 16th century and now it is the largest open air market in Vienna. I was amazed at the variety of food available. Here you can buy everything:from exotic african fruits, Middle East spieces, fresh fish from Danube to traditional Austrian kitchen like Wiener Snitzel(which is not very yammi by the way). It is very busy and the crush of the crowds can be a bit off putting if you were just expecting to stroll between the stalls and shops at a leisurely pace. Itis the best place to purchase sweets, chocolates, specialty foods to take home for gifts - and honey. We bought some sample jars from the quaint honey van, delicious. We also had a great falafel at one of the shops - one of the best falafel wraps we have ever had.

If you come to Vienna one day, don't forget to spend some of your time on the Naschmarkt.

Love you,

Oksana
