Dear Sir(editor)
I am writing to comment on the article I have just read in your newspaper. The article is called Why TV is bad for us. It is very interesting and informative and I'd like to give you my opinion on some points.
First of all, you mentioned that TV encourages us to be lazy. On the one hand, it is true, but on the other hand TV according to some experts helps us to relax and this is not the same thing as to be lazy.
It is often said that TV gives us a trivial version of the news, but we cannot ignore the fact that there are many other sources of information that one can use.
We don't use our brains when we watch TV. The most common argument against this is that it completely depends on the person. If a person doesn't use his or her brains, well it's his or her problem. It's not the problem of TV.
You mentioned that TV teaches young people that violence is always the best answer. We cannot ignore the fact that violence is everywhere around us. It would be unfair not to mention the fact that there are a lot of violent programmes on TV but we live in a world which is really violent. So it's up to a person to decide what to do or not to do.
In conclusion, I'd like to say that one should consider the problem from another angle.
I'm looking forward to your early reply.
Thank you for your interest.
Yours faithfully
