The Constitution of the Republic of Belarus in conjunction with other normative legal acts constitute the legal basis for the formation and implementation of the state policy in the field of environmental protection, the main purpose of which is the realization of the right of people to a healthy environment. The priority direction in the environmental activity is the protection of the atmospheric air. Is the primary objective of reducing the emissions of polluting substances in the atmosphere both from stationary, and also from mobile sources. It is also necessary to revise the methods of control, regulation and accounting of emissions, the criteria for assessing the quality of atmospheric air. Problem remains the issue of waste management. Their number is growing from year to year. Therefore, the crucial task is to minimize waste through the introduction of low - and non-waste technologies, creation of system of regulation of waste and the control over observance of the established norms. Not less important and significant for the Republic is the problem of the quality and use of water resources. In recent years, a tendency to the reduction of the discharge of insufficiently treated sewage in water objects, to reduce the use of water for industrial needs, agricultural water supply, increasing the volume of water in the systems of working and repeated-successive water supply. We must continue work to reduce the pollution of the natural surface and underground water effluents of enterprises and cattle-breeding complexes, increase the level of circulating water use, reduce irrevocable water consumption, and to build a deironing station. To activate begun in the country's work on the establishment of and compliance with the water protection zones for small, medium and large rivers, major lakes and reservoirs. And most important, provide the population with clean drinking water. The problem of the protection and use of land resources in the most multi-faceted, it applies to almost all the organs of the state administration. Of paramount importance here is the implementation of measures to combat land degradation and pollution of land, optimization of land use with the aim of environmentally sustainable natural-territorial complexes by means of conversion of agricultural низкоплодородных lands, increase of forest-poor regions, development of a network of especially protected natural territories. It is important to have objective data on the pollution of the land, the methods of preservation of productive longevity of soil and restoration of degraded land.
Even more serious tasks in the field of protection of forest resources. It is necessary to ensure continuous, sustainable and relatively uniform use of the forest and the combination of environmental and economic functions, including making certain adjustments in management mechanism and practice of forest management. In this paper aims to analyse the current environmental situation of the Republic of Belarus, paying special attention to the regional problems, in connection with which the objectives: 1. Consider the modern ecological situation of the Republic of Belarus. 2. Identify regional environmental problems and ways of their solution. 3. To analyze the environmental policy of the Republic of Belarus.
