Queen Elizabeth II is the longest-reigning monarch in British history so far. She has been Queen of the United Kingdom since 1953 but was only crowned a year later in 1953. She celebrated the Diamond Jubilee in June 2012 which honoured 60 years of her being on the throne. She's been married to Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, for 69 years. Together they've got four children, eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
