Dear Jean-Francois,We finally made it. The first hot-air balloon is finally up in the air! We made it from paper and cloth. To make it float, we burned some straw underneath it. The first passengers were a sheep, a duck and a chicken. King Louis XVI and many members of the royal family watched this first flight. The king has agreed to send men up in the balloon.
