"Lunokhod-1" (8EL device number 203) - the first in mireplanetohod successfully worked on the surface of another celestial body - the moon from 17 November 1970 to 14 September 1971. It was intended to study the characteristics of the lunar surface, and rentgenovskogokosmicheskogo radioactive radiation on the moon, the chemical composition and properties of the soil.
Planetary weight was 756 kg, with an open length of a solar battery - 4.42 m, width - 2.15 m, height - 1.92 m diameter wheels -. 510 mm, width - 200 mm, wheelbase - 1700 mm, track width - 1600 mm.
Delivered on the moon the Soviet interplanetary station "Luna-17" on November 17, 1970, and worked on its surface until September 14, 1971 (this day was held last successful session with the device).
