It was early morning. I had been studying for
my exam for several hours in a row and hadn’t got any sleep at all. I didn’t
actually “learn” anything – all I did was writing the cheat sheets. I was sure
it was impossible to memorize everything in one night, so I relied solely on my
“little helpers”. I took a glance at the clock: I had another hour before
leaving. So I, certainly, decided to take a nap. I set my alarm and fell asleep
right away.
Next time I opened my eyes I realized I’d slept
a little too much. Terrified, I put on my clothes, grabbed my bag and hopped to
school. The weather was nasty, the traffic jams didn’t leave me any hope to get
to school on time. So I ran as fast as I could. I was late, of course. But not
so much. In fact, I came in just in time for the tests to be distributed. And
only when I got my test from the teacher I realized that I had forgotten my
cheat sheets on the table at home. But at that moment I was so tired that I didn’t
feel any frustration. I started with the easiest questions, and as I got
further towards the end of the test I was surprised to find out that I knew all
the answers. Then I recognized the peculiarity of studying at night.
And, yes – I did get an excellent mark for that
exam, which made me extremely happy and proud of myself.
