On
the 31st of December at 11.30 p.m. Bianca and I went to Trafalgar
Square to see the New Year in. There (were) crowds of people around us.
Merry Santa Clauses (was giving) small presents to everybody. When Big Ben
(stroke) twelve, I (found) that I (was kissing) some people and some strangers
(were kissing) me. I (tried) to get to Bianca, but she (was standing) in a group of
foreigners and I (could) not (get) to her at once. But finally, at 12.03
a.m. on the first of January, we (met) and (kissed). In the morning we
(went) to Tower Bridge. I did not (like) it very much, but Bianca (thought) that
the design (was) wonderful and I practically (had to) drag her away. In
the evening we (took) our umbrellas as a fine rain (was falling) and (left)
the house. We (were going) for a walk in Soho. Soho is a district in
London that never (sleeps). The restaurants (were full). Happy people
(were eating), (drinking), (laughing). They (were celebrating) the New Year. We (chose) a
Japanese restaurant famous for its food. The owner (was standing) near the
entrance. He (was smiling) nonstop to his regular customers. We (sat) at a
table ready to have a great time.
