Dear Mother and Father,
I feel very exited at the thought that in another week I shall be with you again on holiday.I have enjoyed my stay in England verymuch indeed. Mr. Priestley and my fellow-students Lucille,Jan,Pedro,Olaf and Hob are all very nice to me, but as , they say
in England,"There is no place like home," and I think you feel this above all at Christmas time.
I am leaving here early on Thursday, the rd, and I shall arrive in Basle on Friday morning, so I shall be home somewhere about lunch time. Can you meet me at the station , as I shall have a lot of luggage?
In some of my earlier letters I have told you all about the other students here; well, I want to ask my Polish friend , Jan, to come and spend Christmas with us.Will that be
all right?His father and mother died last year ; he can`t go home for Christmas,and he has no friends in England except the Priestleys. He is a very nice boy - i know you will all like him, and I feel sure he will enjoy Christmas with us.
