The States of America
There are 50 states and the District of Columbia in the USA, a special federal area and the capital of the country - Washington D.C. The population of the country is about 250 million people.
Almost every state is famous. Florida is one of the USA states. It is located in the south - eastern part of the USA states. It is a peninsula territory.
The biggest city is Miami. In 1845 it joined the US. There is situated famous " Disney World ", opened in the 1970-s.
Nevada is a state located in the western region of the USA. The capital is Carson City and the largest city is Las Vegas. The nickname is " The Silver State ".
Texas is a state situated in the south of country. The capital is Austin. There are a lot of deposits of oil. Texas was also home to the cowboy, that hero of the American West.
There are many important cities in the USA. New York is one of the largest cities in the world, a great seaport and a financial centre. Chicago, on the Great Lakers, is the second largest city after New York and one of the oldest cities which were built on the Atlantic coasts of America. Now it is a big cultural centre with three universities. Los Angeles in California is a centre of modern industries and show business. Disney Land was opened here in 1955. Other big cities in the USA are Philadelphia, Dallas, San Francisco,Washington and some other.

Почти каждый штат является известным. Флорида - один из штатов США. Он расположен в юго-восточной части штатов США. Это территория полуострова. Самый крупный город  - Майами. В 1845 он присоединился к Штатам. Там находится знаменитый "Disney World", открытый в 1970-х.
Невага - штат, который расположен в западном регионе Соединённых Штатов. Столица - Карсон-сити и крупнейший город - Лас-Вегас. Прозвище - "The silver state".
Техас - штат, который расположен на юге страны. Столица - город Остин.  Там есть много залежей нефти. Техас всегда был домом для ковбоев, героев американского Запада.
В США есть много важных городов. Нью-Йорк - один из самых больших городов в мире, морских портов и финансовых центров. Чикаго, на Больших Озёрах, второй самый большой город после Нью-Йорка и один из самых старых городов, построеных на Атлантическом побережье. Сейчас это большой культурный центр с третя университетами. Лос Анджелес в Калифорнии - это центр современной индустрии и шоу-бизнеса. Дисней-лэнд был открыт в 1955 году. Другие большие города США - это Филадельфия, Даллас, Сан-Франциско, Вашингтон и некоторые другие.
