Ex.4 1Mr. Pepperpot hated to think anybody might know the truth about Mrs. Pepperpot because he was sure it could endanger her life and destroy their comfort. 2Mrs. Pepperpot thought that somebody had given wax to her husband because there was nothing wrong with his skis, they ran forward quickly. 3Mrs. Pepperpot didn't speak to the skier before the race began because she knew Mr. Pepperpot hated to think anybody might get to know about her ability to change her size. 4Mrs. Pepperpot asked the skier not to overdo the race, otherwise he would have no breath left at the end. 5The skier turned his head when he heard Mrs. Pepperpot's voice because he wanted to see if anyone was talking to him from behind. 6The skier decided not to go on with the race at all because he thought it was his wife who could change her size. 7Mrs. Pepperpot was sure her husband had won the race because she could hear the sound of clapping and cheering in the distance on her way home. 8Mr. Pepperpot came back home without the cup because Paul Peterson had won it. 9Mr. Pepperpot thought Paul Peterson was a bit strange during the race and after it because he looked very strange and kept talking about his wife and his cap. 10 Mrs. Pepperpot laughs when she remembers the day when she went ski- racing in the wrong cap because it helps her to overcome things which are not going just right. Ex. 5 1) Mr. Pepperpot: What do you think about the ski race? I don't see why I shouldn't have a go this year.I feel much better than I have for many years. And if you win the cup,you'llget your favourite cake when you come home. 2)Mr.Pepperpot: I forgot to take the wax so I didn't think it was worth going in for the race . Mr.Pepperpot:All the same he looked very strange, he kept talking about his wife and his cap.He even telephoned his house to make sure his wife had been there all the time. Mrs. Pepperpot:I'm sure, you know who's under your cap.You had forgotten to take the wax, so I brought it along. Only I fell into your cap instead of the wax. The skier:Who's that speaking? Mrs. Pepperpot:It's me, you fool! I've become small again.You'll have to put me off somewhere near our house.You pass right by, remember? The skier:I'm loosing my mind! Mrs. Pepperpot:Come on, man, get a move on!They'll all pass you! The skier:Is it...is it true that you're the little old woman who can become very small as a pepperpot? Mrs. Pepperpot:Of course,you know that! The skier: Am I married to you? Is it my wife who can change her size? Mrs. Pepperpot:Yes,yes, but hurry now! The skier:No,if that's how it is,I'm not going on with the race at all. Mrs. Pepperpot:Rubbish! You must go on! Maybe you'd like me to get out of your cap and show myself to everybody?Any minute now I may go back to my full size and then the whole crowd will see who you are married to.Come on, now!
