Everybody
knows that the capital of Great Britain is London. But not many people can
believe that it consists of a lot of villages that grew into a very large
city. Now London has some of the old names of those villages in the
names of the streets — Kensington, Westminster and others. There were
many fires in London's history when the city was nearly burnt and
destroyed. London is situated near the sea. Ships came to London to bring
cotton, food and other things. The city was growing fast when the first ever railway was built. Today London is demonstrating its diversity: large squares
and parks together with rich industrial zone.
