There are about2,000 television stations and hundreds of channels. But most people usu-ally watch 15 TV channels. American children watch about 40,000 com-mercials a year. There are about 11,000 commercial radio stations in theUSA. There are also radio stations free from commercials — the Voice ofAmerica and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. They transmit their pro-grammes to Eastern Europe. There are about 1,800 daily newspapers and11,000 magazines in the USA. The US is the home of the Internet andmore than 85 per cent of US teens go online every day.
