The brush tailed possum is (widely) spread in Australia. It is about the size of a cat. Possums can grow to as big as 55 cm long plus a tail which is another 25-40 cm long. Possums are (furry) animals. Their colour is usually black or grey. Possums live in gum trees, their nests usually (hidden) away in the branches. They become quite used to the life in towns, and the (Australian) can hear them moving across the roof usually soon after dark and just before sunrise. Or if you are (lucky), you can watch the whole tribe going their way across to feed on something through the night. Sometimes but not often, they get into a house by (falling) down a chimney. The flower garden is also (attractive) for these animals. They use their front paws to hold and to help pick fruit and (leaves).
