Officially, the New Year in the United States is celebrated on January 1, but its celebration begins on December 31. By tradition, until midnight, everyone escorts the old year, and then they meet the come. Americans like to celebrate this holiday in theaters, nightclubs and restaurants. Exactly at midnight, after the bells ringing, fireworks, champagne plugs, howling of sirens and car horns are alerted to the beginning of the New Year. People hug and kiss each other, they want happiness. In some major cities of the country on January 1, parades are held. Admittedly, the most gay and numerous of them is the New Year's parade in New York's Time Square. Thousands of residents of the city of the Big Apple gather here, millions of Americans join them, watching a colorful show on television. With the New Year holiday, there are also such popular American festivals as the Rose Tournament and the Pantomime Parade, the origins of which were born in the middle of the last century. The pantomime parade, which was first organized in Philadelphia by Irish immigrants, takes place as a ten-hour performance. Clowns, musicians, dancers participate in the parade ... All of them march through the city streets under the leadership of the King pantomime, dressed in bright costumes, to music, sounds of pipes and flutes.
