Independence Day is a national holiday of the USA and an official holiday. Like other summer festivities, Independence Day is most often celebrated outdoors. It takes place literally brightly: with fireworks, picnics and other outdoor activities, as well as concerts and patriotic speeches, festivals and historical reconstructions.
Families often celebrate Independence Day by having a picnic or a barbecue with friends.
Also in the city of New York on July 4 light bulbs in the skyscraper of the Empire State Building are replaced by red.
