The nature of Belarus is unique. Here you can find many rare species of plants and animals. Major nature protection projects are being implemented in the republic, state reserves and zakazniki have been established. Varied vegetation occupies 93.1% of the country's entire territory. Forests constitute one-third of the country's green cover.
The north of Belarus is a land of lakes. In the south of the country, along the course of the Pripyat River, there is a marshland - the famous Belorussian Polesie.
