Washington (Engl. Washington, D.C., IPA: [ˈwɑʃɪŋtən ˌdiː ˌsiː]) is a city, the capital of the United States of America. Official name — DC (eng. District of Columbia, abbreviated as D.C., "Di-si"). Not to be confused with the town of the same state in the North-West of the country, Americans colloquially usually called the city "DC" or "Washington, DC".
