Nikolai Vasilyevich Igumnov , director and owner of Yaroslavl Large manufactory in 1888 petitioned to build a new stone house. The house was built young architect Nikolai Pozdeev , while former city architect Yaroslavl. Mansion in pseudo-Russian style was built in 1895 on the site of a small wooden house of the merchant Nikolai Lukyanov.
