Theodore Dreiser is a famous English writer. He was born in Terre Haute (1871).
The Dreiser family lived poorly. After graduation, Theodore went to work in Chicago. Young Theodore managed to work as a cleaner in a restaurant and even as a loader.
In 1889, he entered the university, but he could not finish it because of a lack of money. Theodore got a job as a reporter in various cities.
In 1900, his famous novel "Sister Kerry" (Sister Carrie), which made him famous, is published. The more popular book is The Financier (The Financier) from The Trilogy of Desire.
The style in the books contains a clear description of the events. Many critics believe that the plot in his books is missing completely.
