Professor Higgins, who was awarded a major science prize last
month, 1) was invited to take part in a conference which 2) was held in
London last week. He 3) was met at the airport by a driver who,
unfortunately, 4) had been given the name of the wrong hotel to take the
professor to. A large reception 5) had been organised for the professor,
however, he 7) was left at a small hotel in a rather bad area, and when he
asked to speak to the Head of the Conference Committee he 8) was told to
try somewhere else because he 9) hadn't been heard of there. Luckily, later
that evening, the driver 10) was sent to the hotel where the reception 11) was being held, and when he 12) was asked what he had done with the professor,
everyone realised that a mistake 13) had been made. The professor says that if
he 14) is ever sent another invitation to a conference, he hopes it 15) will be organised more efficiently.
