Self-esteem is how you feel about yourself. Teenagers can feel uncomfortable about their body because they undergo and have to cope with numerous body changes. They can feel too fat or too skinny, too tall or too short. This feeling causes them to be in dream of what might have been if they were not like such. As a teenage boy or girl's body changes, so does the self which is affected by seeing some drawbacks in oneself.
Teenagers who experience negative comments about their appearances, the way they talk also develop low self-esteem and body image.
And how to improve self-esteem? Here are some helpful tips:
Don't compare yourself with other people. There have always been and there will be people who can do something better than you, have something more than you do. Being engaged in comparisons, you will always have many rivals whom it is useless to deal with.
And last but not the least is that you live only once and must live as you wish. Don't be influenced by others. Live your life, don't always rely on the approval of friends or relatives to take a decision. It does not improve self-esteem.
