Saransk is a city located in Russia. Its capital is the Republic of Mordovia. In 1641 this city was founded as a fortress on the south-eastern outskirts of the Russian kingdom. The city received its name from the river, which flowed through its area and was called Saranka. The population of this city is 318841 people.
In 1708, Peter I reigned and the administration was replaced by the governor, and the territory of the Russian kingdom was divided into 8 major provinces. Saransk belonged to the Azov province, but in 1709 it was assigned to the Astrakhan province. In 1719, a reform was carried out in order to slightly reduce the rule of territories - the provinces were divided into provinces. Saransk became part of the Penza province of Kazan province. In 1785, Catherine II approved a new building plan for Saransk - a rectangular street network with blocks and squares.

During this time, 4 times the city became the holder of a diploma of II degree and 2 times - III degree. In 2012, Saransk won the first place in the competition and became, according to the results of 2011, the owner of the title “The most comfortable urban settlement of Russia” among the cities of the first place. In 2017, the first in Russia, the avenue named after the Russian army. The decision to rename the Prospect Yubileiny to the prospect of the Russian Army in Saransk was taken by the City Council in November. The avenue runs along a residential neighborhood under construction and goes to the Mordovia Arena stadium, where in 2018 there were World Cup soccer matches.
