После told обычно стоит дополнение в виде местоимения (кому сказали), после said такие дополнения не используются!
1. Bob told me that he went to the theatre the day before.
2. He said he was eager to see the performance.
3. He also told us John Taylor was with him.
4. He told us a theatre company from England was on tour.
5. He told us the tickets were very expensive.
6. He said they performed a Shakespeare play very well.
7. He said the acting was wonderful.
8. He said he enjoyed it very much.
