In order to preserve historical memory and commemorate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945, Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a decree declaring 2020 the Year of memory and glory in Russia.
In Russia, the Pobeda organizing Committee has been established. its main task is to prepare for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945 and work to perpetuate the memory of those who died during the war. According to the Decree of the President of Russia dated may 9, 2018 No. 211 "on the preparation and conduct of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945", a number of measures have been developed to ensure the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Victory.
On January 18, 2020, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that all veterans of the great Patriotic war and equivalent categories of citizens will receive additional payments for the holiday. According to The presidential Decree, in April — may 2020, 75 thousand rubles will be paid to war veterans, minor prisoners of concentration camps, widows of deceased invalids and war veterans — citizens of the Russian Federation, the Latvian, Lithuanian and Estonian Republics. 50 thousand rubles will be given to home front workers and adult prisoners of concentration camps[1].
The invitation to take part in the Victory Parade on red square was sent to the leaders of 17 countries, including Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Bulgaria, China, Cuba, Cyprus, Egypt, France, India, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Luxembourg, Moldova, Mongolia, the United Nations, Palestine, North Macedonia, Serbia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, the Czech Republic, and Venezuela.
According to the Russian defense Ministry, military parades will be held in 29 Russian cities: 9 hero cities-Moscow, Volgograd, Kerch, Murmansk, Novorossiysk, St. Petersburg (the hero city of Leningrad), Sevastopol, Smolensk and Tula, and in 19 cities where the headquarters of military districts, fleets, combined arms armies, army corps and the Caspian flotilla are stationed. Solemn events with the participation of troops will be held in 475 cities and localities across the country, where associations, formations, and military units of the Armed forces are stationed, as well as in 7 localities outside the Russian Federation: Khmeimim (Syria), Sukhum (Abkhazia), Yerevan and Gyumri (Armenia), Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), Dushanbe (Tajikistan) and Tskhinvali (South Ossetia). They will involve more than 1B5 thousand military personnel and about three thousand units of equipment. Festive artillery salutes will be given in 73 Russian cities[2] [3].
On June 13, 2019, the jubilee medal "75 years of Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945" was established.
On may 9, 2020, the largest monument in the history of modern Russia — the Rzhevsky memorial to the Soviet soldier-will be opened. The complex in memory of all soldiers of the red army is being built on the initiative of veterans of the great Patriotic war on the site of the bloody battles near Rzhev in 1942-1943. The 25-meter figure of a warrior will stand near the m-9 highway. The project is implemented by the RVIO on public donations[4]. As part of the celebration, the Main temple of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation will be consecrated and the Museum complex "Road of Memory" will be opened on its territory.
Red square parade on may 9, 2020
The military parade on red square on may 9, 2020 will be the Central event of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war.
The parade will involve 15,000 military personnel, 225 weapons and military equipment, as well as 150 aircraft. 24 newest military equipment samples will be demonstrated. There will be 10 calculations in military uniforms of the great Patriotic war and a mechanized column of the legendary T-34 and SU-100[5]. The duration of the parade, compared to previous years, has been increased to one and a half hours.
in addition to members of the Armed forces of the Russian Federation, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan confirmed their participation in the Victory day parade on may 9 in Moscow. The CSTO member States will provide 75 military personnel to participate in the military parade. In total, representatives of 20 armies of the world were invited to participate in the parade[6].
All military personnel participating in the parade on red square and other parades will receive a commemorative medal of the Russian defense Ministry "For participating in the military parade to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war of 1941-1945"[7].
The first columns of military equipment (strategic complexes "YARS") were transferred to Alabino on the night of February 26-27. The start of joint training in Alabino is from March 25. There will be 25 of them In total.from April 29, training sessions will be held on red square.
