Easter is the most important holiday in the year. Easter is not always held on the same date every year. It is celebrated on the first Sunday following the first full moon after the spring equinox. It means that Easter can fall as early as March 22 or as late as April 25.
Easter cake (kulich) and Easter eggs (pysanky) are the symbols of Easter and obligatory food on the table this day. Kulich is baked in the form of cylinder. Pysanky is boiled and painted eggs. Knocking eggs is an Easter game: if you knock somebody's egg and your egg is not broken you are the winner. In this day eggs and kulich are given as gifts or exchanged.
