The Sharf or Shard of Glass
The Shard's began in March 2009, it was topped out on 30 March 2012 and inaugurated on 5 July 2012.
The Shared is currently the tallest building in the European Union.Stanting approximately 306 metres(1,004 ft)high, the tower has 72 habiteble floors.
It was designed by the Italian Architect Renzo Piano, and replaced Southwark Towers.The building features 11,000 panes of glass, with a total surface area of 56,000 square metres
