Dickens
began to write when he was very young. "The Pickwick Papers" was his
first novel. The history of the novel was very interesting. One day they asked
him to write a text to some funny pictures. The pictures showed some Englishmen
who belonged to a sports club. They liked to travel and went in for different
kinds of sports. Dickens began to write. In the beginning it was just a funny
story, but very soon the readers saw how it grew into a fine novel. When the
first part of the novel was ready, the artist suddenly died. The man who
finished the pictures was H. Brown. "The Pickwick Papers" made
Dickens famous. People praise both the author and the artist; the book is a great
success. Readers find the book very interesting and always laugh when they
think of Mr. Pickwick's adventures. "The Pickwick Papers" is one of
the best works in the history of English literature. Everybody who is older
than six enjoys Mr. Pickwick's story.
