John Lennon is world-famous singer and songwriter, member of "The Beatles''(we also know them as Fab Four). He is famous as pacifist, he wanted to "give peace a chance".
When he made "Bed-in for peace" action, John and his wife lay in bed for a whole day and even gave interviews from there! Lennon was murdered by Mark Chapman, his mad fan(Chapman thought that he was Lennon himself).
His song "Imagine" is about world peace. He tells that if there was nothing that separates us from each other, like nations, religions, money and so on, our world would be much better. This song was forbidden in some schools(because of the words "and no religion too").
Of course, Lennon is the songwriter of "Imagine", but there is a person, who helped him - his wife Yoko Ono. They were very close to each other - once he even said that nor they have one name - John-and-Yoko, and everyone should call them like that. Not for a long time Yoko told that Lennon was inspired by her poem, it begun with word "imagine":"Imagine a raindrop.Imagine a goldfish."
This song quickly became an anthem of pacifists and it is still a hit. Maybe it is so popular, because it tells about the power of imagination - use it, and you will even change the world!
