The range of this tiger is concentrated in the area South-East of Russia, on the banks of the rivers Amur and Ussuri rivers in the Khabarovsk and Primorsky regions. Only in Russia in 1996 there were about 415-476 individuals. About 10 % (40-50 individuals) of the population of the Amur tiger lives in China (Manchuria). Most of Amur tigers are common in the foothills of the Sikhote-Alin in Lazovsky district of Primorsky Krai, where a relatively small territory of lives every sixth wild Amur tiger (2003). It is supposed to settle the Amur tigers in the territory of the Pleistocene Park in Yakutia.
