1 .Even now, 10 years after, Mr David Roony
remembers the day when he turned 17. On that day he HAD a fight
with an orangutan! In order to earn extra money for his studies David came to help in the animal training centre. The centre WAS RUN by David’s cousin, who asked him to take care of three five-months-old orangutans. It was MORE DIFFICULT than it sounded as little orangutans can be pretty naughty. David’s job was to play with orangutans to help them get used to humans. One day one of orangutans wrestled David to the ground and took a bite out of his back. David was furious and the orangutan immediately knew that he HAD DONE something wrong and apologised putting his head on David’s shoulder.
David is sure that orangutans are the most intelligent animals he has
ever seen.
2. Until 1957, human beings were just observers of the outer space. Now they have
entered the realm of solar system. Twelve men HAVE LANDED on the Moon so far.
Due to their data-gathering experiments we now have firsthand knowledge of our planetary environment.
The Moon is the Earth’s only satellite, and it HAS BEEN ORBITING our planet for at least 4,000 million years. It is a rocky sphere, which is about one-quarter the size of the Earth.
All expectations to find traces of life failed long ago. Living things need air and water to stay alive, and neither of these ARE available on the Moon.
