The mushrooms
One day a French student who was spending his holiday in Germany went to a restaurant. The young man didn’t know German and the people who were at the restaurant couldn’t speak French. He wanted to have mushrooms for breakfast. So he called the waiter and ordered mushrooms. But the waiter could not understand what the student wanted and said:
“Excuse me, sir, I don’t understand what you are talking about.”
The student thought a little, then took a pencil and a sheet of paper out of his pocket, and drew mushroom. The waiter looked at the picture and soon left the room. A few minutes later he came back with an umbrella, gave it to the student and said:
“I’m very glad, sir, that I was able to help you.”
