The Wales
is the western part of Great Britain. The Bristol Channel washes its southern
coast. The Irish Sea washes its western coast. Wales was conquered by England
in 1536. The Welsh call their country Cymry and themselves they call Cymry. The
population of Wales is about 3 min people. The screnery of North Wales is very beautiful
and wild. it’s a good place to learn climbing and to enjoy all kinds of
outdoors activities. The pride of Wales’ scenery is Snowdonia (a rigion of high
mountains). South Wales is a land of high hills and wide valleys. The largest
cities of Wales are Cardiff and It’s the
capital of the Wales. The climate in Wales is mild. The economy of Wales is
based on coal mining and iron and steel production. Sheep and cattle farming
are 2 largest agricultural branches of Wales. Most of the people speak English
but there is also a Welsh language in Wales. Wales has an old cultural tradition it's a national festival of Welsh
music, poetry, dance and song. The festival
is called the Eisteddfod. Two of the most popular Welsh hobbies are the male
voice choir and rugby. The Wales’ flag is called the Welsh dragon. People wear
a leek or a daffodil on St David’day.
