To the north of Edinburgh and Glasgow
are the Highlands of Scotland: mountains with few trees, wild (1) deer and
many sheep. It`s one of the most (2) picturesque parts in the world.
Highlanders, the people of the area, are very (3) devoted to their
country with its (4) modest beauty, through it is not so (5) striking
as other places in Britain. Most of the these people are farmers and fishermen.
Scotland does a lot fish (6) trading. On the small islands to the north
and west Scotland there are fishing and farming villages. The houses in the villages
look (7) prosperous but they have to be strong enough to keep people
warm in winter when cold winds blow from the sea.
