Until recently the planet was a large world in which human activities and the nature were in balance. People lived in harmony with nature and didn`t pollute it.
But nowadays environmental problems are the most burning for the modern society. People cut duwn trees, destroy the habitats of thousands of animals and contaminate water in rivers and seas. The increasing number of cars in towns and cities has led to the growth of the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Many rare plants and animals are disappearing.
We also have to cut down on rubbish. Don`t throw away plastic bottles, glass jars, newspapers, cardboard boxes and cans. They can all be used again.
We all know what genetic engineering is doing to our food and to wildlife. We should always buy organic products.
We should save the Earth`s naural resources because water means life. Take showers instead of baths and use less water when you wash dishes or wash the car or water the plants. Don`t waste electricity either. Switch lights off when you leave a room and use low-energy bulbs.
Our planet is fuul of beauty and life, but only we have the power to save it
