A dinosaur bone (part of the femur of megalosaurus, was found in the quarry) was first scientifically described Oxford Professor Robert Pattom in the book "Natural history of Oxfordshire" (1677), which, correctly identifying it as a thigh bone of a giant animal, found it difficult in her tributarie and, remembering elephants, brought to Britain by the Romans, eventually found her remains drowned in the deluge of the sinner.
